Comme des Enfants (Le Matos Remix)

Some songs just live in your chest. Not your head, your chest. “Comme des Enfants” by Coeur de Pirate has always been one of those for me. Béatrice Martin wrote it as this fragile little confession in French, two people who loved each other like kids and didn’t really know how to let go.

Then Le Matos got their hands on it.

The Montreal duo took all that vulnerability and ran it through neon. And it should not work, but it completely does. The melody is still there, still gorgeous, but now it’s driving through wet streets at 2am with the city lights smearing across the windshield. Same heart, totally different world around it.

This is the kind of remix that isn’t trying to beat the original. It just finds something that was already hiding inside it and turns the lights on.
